The summer before my twins went to Kindergarten, I started researching online for school lunch ideas. I came across a lot of discussions about Bento Lunches. Thus began my love for making kiddie bento lunches for my girls. :)
Half the fun of making kiddie bento lunches is shopping for bento supplies. All the bento boxes look so cute in their little drawstring bags and the food picks are just too adorable. Then there are the little soya sauce containers and the mini divider dishes. The mayonnaise containers and Furikake (rice seasoning) bottles are simply irresistible!
By referring to online tutorials and bento-making books, I figured out how to make octo-dogs, and apple rabbits. I learned how to use the egg molds to make the super cute molded boiled eggs. The kids love getting their bento lunches and I notice that they actually do finish their lunch whenever I make it bento style.
So when I first saw Lettering Delight's
Bento Box SVG, I laughed and laughed and asked my 5 year old if she could identify the items in the SVG set and when she did, I knew that
Lettering Delights has gotten the set right. :-)
Let me show you which are some of my favorite files from this set:
I'm always fascinated by the 3D items in the SVG sets and I just had to make these onigiri rice balls with
Make-the-Cut.
